Greenify your diet with these 14 local farm-to-table brands delivering in Klang Valley - News Azi

I'll admit that since I started working from the office again, I've been eating out more, and not very healthily as vegetables aren't always the main component in plenty of Malaysian dishes. Shopping for veggies at the grocery store can be intimidating as well, since I'm unsure of how to cook them or what they'll taste like (and whether I'd like their flavours). One benefit of buying them online then is that websites generally have more information on what to expect from each vegetable, whether it's about their flavour profile, nutritional value, or how they can be incorporated into dishes. Hence, here's a non-exhaustive list of 14 local brands we found that sell fresh greens online and can deliver them around the Klang Valley to make adopting healthy eating easy. Cumulatively, their offerings are of a variety that ranges from salad greens to microgreens, herbs, and more. 1. Babylon Vertical Farm Image Credit: Babylon Vertical Farm

Mastercard wants to discontinue Maestro - Retail Detail Europe

Image
Mastercard is planning to discontinue its well-known Maestro payment cards soon. Needless to say, this will also entail readjustments for retailers. Better suited for e-commerce Worldwide, 400 million Maestro cards by the brand that Mastercard introduced thirty years ago are in circulation. Nevertheless, the successful card will soon be replaced by a new debit card under the Mastercard brand. The main reason is the rise of e-commerce. According to Henri Dewaerheijd, country manager Belgium and Luxembourg, Mastercard and Maestro have always been two different brands with their proper payment network. "The Mastercard network is twice as large and offers more possibilities to process e-commerce transactions. Due to the enormous growth of e-commerce, especially in the past few months, the importance of that network has increased even more", he told Belg

Perspective | Keep track of your Venmo, PayPal and other payment app transactions in case the IRS comes asking - The Washington Post

Image
A new income tax reporting rule is causing users of various payment apps a lot of anxiety. Starting this year, all third-party payment processors in the United States are required to report payments received for goods and services of more than $600 a year. The change was made to capture income made by gig workers and entrepreneurs with a side hustle. In the past, companies were only required to send an IRS Form 1099-K for gross payments exceeding $20,000 and more than 200 transactions within a calendar year. Venmo, PayPal and other payment apps have to tell the IRS about your side hustle if you make more than $600 a year. This new rule won't affect 2021 federal tax returns, but now is the time to get ready for next year. If you're sending or receiving money through one of these apps, you need to be proactive in making sure you aren't mistakenly sent a 1099-K. Eric Bronnenkant, head of tax for online financial adviser Betterment, answered some questions readers had about the

Manish Tewari | The bulldozer - Deccan Chronicle

Image
The bulldozer has been very much in the news recently as the "bludgeon of choice" to destroy the homes and livelihoods of people in areas hit by communal strife in New Delhi and various parts other parts of the country. In fact, the Supreme Court had to intervene to stay the use of "the bulldozer" that was being vigorously deployed to remove what was being described as a routine drive to remove "illegal encroachments". On May 1, Labour Day, the administration of the Union Territory of Chandigarh deployed the ubiquitous bulldozer to flatten the homes and hearth of 4,000 working class families in the name of making the City Beautiful slum-free. The dictum seems to be, rather than remove poverty just annihilate the poor.   The use of the bulldozer as a weapon is not new. Invented in 1904 by grain harvester manufacturer Benjamin Holt as a diesel-powered traction machine that could traverse terrain too mushy to support horse-drawn or whee

Video Transcript - Welcome back, everyone. During the first Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholders meeting held in-person since COVID, Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger didn't hold back on their disdain for Bitcoin. For more on why, I'm joined by Lisa Ellis, partner at MoffettNathanson. Good to have you, Lisa. Obviously, no surprise. They've made no secret about this. What would you compare their disdain to Bitcoin to? LISA ELLIS: Oh it's very similar, at least they're consistent. They've long lambasted gold for many of the same reasons. They view gold and Bitcoin as what they refer to as unproductive assets. Assets that aren't like a farm or a factory that make things, but ones that are sort of intrinsically
